August 3, 2012
Hello AMATYC Members!
I hope that you are enjoying the remaining few weeks of summer
vacation. It does seem that it gets shorter each year, doesn’t it?
I am writing to remind you that online registration is now open
for the 38th annual AMATYC Conference to be held on November 8-11, 2012. This year’s
location is Jacksonville, Florida. Our Local Events Coordinator, Jerrett
Dumouchel, has assured me that this will also be a conference to
remember.
The conference hotel is the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville
Riverfront. Located in North Florida, the weather is typically
beautiful in November and be sure to check out the tour information posted on
the website. I hope that you are planning to attend this important
event – attending the annual conference is a great way to grow professionally,
to renew friendships and to learn new skills and ideas to prepare our students
for the challenges ahead.
The deadline for the discounted registration is September 30 (if sent by mail) or October 7. Please encourage your
colleagues that are not yet members to register online as well; it’s not a
problem. If they are not already in our database as a prospective member,
they can simply log into the site as a visitor, create a profile and register
for the conference. Of course, there’s an opportunity to join AMATYC if
they wish.
Lastly, consider a donation to the Foundation as you register for
the conference. Just before you exit the shopping cart, continue shopping
to select “Donations” from the shop-for menu in the online store; then, select
a fund of your choice to support. For any donations received through conference
registrations, the donor’s name will automatically be entered for a drawing for
a complimentary conference registration for Anaheim 2013.
Please visit the AMATYC website, http://www.amatyc.org/Events/conferences/2012Jacksonville/ for information regarding both conference registration and
hotel reservations.
I look forward to seeing you in Jacksonville!
Sincerely,
Jim
Jim Roznowski
AMATYC President
