Save the Date (Fall Conference - Online Format) & Call for Presenters!
Hello Everyone!
We hope as we all wrap up summer school and begin to prepare for fall classes that you save the date for our fall conference. We had planned to have everyone here at NIACC for an in-person conference this fall as is our tradition. However, with the Covid-19 pandemic and all of the modifications to our lives, we have decided to host our fall conference online. We hope that this will provide more access to community college math instructors across the state to join us, especially those who have not been able to join us in the past due to distance. We are still working out all the details, but would like to you to save the date: Friday, October 9th!
We'd also invite you to contact, Brent Hamilton, brent.hamilton@niacc.edu, if you are interested in making a presentation at our conference. Together with Kathy Rogotzke, we are planning to organize a fall conference centered around the theme of Teaching in the Pandemic. Our sessions will likely have a heavy online emphasis in methodology; however, other topics related to the challenges and opportunities of teaching in the midst of a world-wide pandemic will be considered. Please contact Brent or Kathy if you'd like to present or know of someone who would be a great resource and would like to present a session this fall. Please contact us by Friday, August 7th, as we hope to have an agenda published by the time we all start classes this fall.
While we would love to have you on campus this fall in person for our conference, we are excited for this opportunity to gather with one another online and discuss teaching mathematics! We hope you have a wonderful summer and look forward to seeing you this fall!
